Our Des Peres Branch is Closing

In early 2009, Spirit of St. Louis Credit Union merged with Vantage Credit Union, and we added the Des Peres branch (along with the Eureka branch), bringing our branch total to 16 locations.

Since that time, circumstances have changed a bit. In addition to restrictive legislation, no one can argue that the national economy has been slow in its recovery from a historic downturn. These developments have presented new pressures that require our attention, along with some difficult, though prudent decisions, to ensure our continued stability and growth.

One of those decisions involved our Des Peres branch. In addition to the situations listed above, the Des Peres location itself presented a number of operational challenges when considering member service. Its location in the corner of a strip mall made it difficult to see from the street, and even more difficult to expand with such conveniences as drive-ups and a night deposit. In addition, we found over time that branch patronage was very light.

All these considerations brought us to a very difficult, but prudent, decision—we will be closing the Des Peres branch and transferring staff to our other locations.

The closing schedule for our Des Peres branch will proceed as follows:

February 12, 2011

March 31, 2011
Last day of service at Des Peres branch

May 1, 2011
Last day ATM will be available
